Proteinaholic

One of the plant-based doctors I follow in FB is coming out with a new book in October.

Back in 2012, I did an analysis of a typical day of food and found that in my VEGAN diet, I get all the protein I need in 1/2 of my calories.  NO protein deficiency here!

I'm not an elite athlete, but I am active, but I am not worried.  We have lots of examples of vegan athletes... !

I think, also, as one gets older, plant-based makes more sense (and I'll follow up on this in the future).  If you can't eat 100% plant-based, try increasing your percentage.  It does help!

No such thing as age...

I love this article!

When I was somewhere between 5 and 8, I made the observation that older folks didn't seem to have that much fun, nor did they run around much. I watched them complain a lot about things like their weight, how many medicines they have to take, and life in general. I don't do quite as many crazy things as I used to, but I do a lot and this article is inspirational! When I'm 90, I want to be just like her!   Or her at 86

if it's a good enough diet for a 98 year old cardiothoracic surgeon...

It's good enough for us!

Click the link to see an interview of Dr. Ellsworth Wareham, a 98 year old recently retired (at age 95) cardiothoracic surgeon; he adopted a plant-based diet in his 50's. He's been a vegan for almost 1/2 his life.
